Almost Never

It was there
I, you
Ours to have, to share, to explore
As we descended, tumbling into new
We observed as we inhaled
The mind, that tricky thing
The stimuli , the bridge, the shore
It will steal it all from you
You'll leave with only fragments
Pieces of what you almost knew
You'll hold onto them, forget them
As if they were never there
One day a cool deep breath
That tricky thing you see
It will awaken , it will stare
Into those drawers and closets deep inside
That room it built from which you hide
The pieces stolen and stored
Now weathered and warped
They don't fit together anymore
The puzzle left not like before
It was never yours

  1. I love it. It's a complete work of art. Well done friend. It swells in my heart, while breaking it at the same time. Dare I say - it's beautiful in its entirety.
